From the 7th to the 10th of March 2020 – the WP4 was on scoping visit in the Bangladesh Delta.

This was a great chance to discover in a few days the main challenges of the delta. We had also more time to meet each other and to discuss while on the way to the field.

The scoping visit was organized by Anisur Majumdar (BUET)

Team members present: our WP4-leads, Fabrice Renaud (UoG) and Hue Le (VNU), and Thorsten Balke (UoG), Tanh Nguyen (AGU), Ly Ha Bui (CTU), Li Li Nguyen (AGU), Cai Ladd (UoG), Emilie Cremin (UoG), Iain Garrett (Newcastel U), and the field visit was facilitated by BUET Research assistant: Robiul Hasan (BUET), Tasnim Kamal Shamma (BUET), Arup Shuvo (BUET), Shamima Airin Sweety (BUET).

This visit allows us to lay the foundations for Task 4.1 "Define baseline conditions of coastal SES health and presence/perception of coastal tipping”. The scoping visit has ensured that we are targeting some interesting sites. We have also organized a stakeholder workshop (1h) to find out the main issues of the Shatkira district. Those interaction with stakeholders might help underpin other WPs' activities, in particular the surveys linked to WP2.
